Sycuan Casino Resort has entered into a sponsorship agreement with Hyak Motorsports for the first NASCAR San Diego Weekend, giving the tribal casino operator a prominent role in one of the season’s headline Cup Series events.

As part of the deal, Sycuan will serve as the primary sponsor of the No. 47 Chevrolet driven by Ricky Stenhouse Jr. during the race weekend scheduled for Sunday, June 21.

The event is set to run on streets surrounding Naval Base Coronado as part of celebrations linked to the 250th anniversary of the United States.

Chairman Cody Martinez said the partnership gives Sycuan a chance to bring its brand to the track while engaging employees, guests, racing fans, and the wider San Diego community.

Hyak Motorsports said the No. 47 Sycuan Casino Resort Chevrolet will appear with a new race livery for the San Diego Cup Series event.

Stenhouse said the team is pleased to welcome Sycuan Casino Resort for the inaugural race, noting that the partner’s strong ties to the San Diego area add local significance to the weekend.

He also described racing near Naval Base Coronado as a distinctive experience and said he looks forward to representing the resort both on and off the track before local fans.

Sycuan Casino Resort is located in El Cajon, California, and is owned by the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation. The property originally operated as a bingo hall before expanding into a full casino resort and entertainment destination serving the San Diego market.

The agreement was completed with support from Meridien Sports, a Charlotte-based agency focused on sports marketing, entertainment, and brand partnerships.
